3rd Sector Energy, Waste & Water
Efficiency Course
A free course is being held for charities, social enterprises and community groups to help them reduce running costs at their premises through:
• Reviewing utility usage and tariffs
• Practical measures, e.g. LED lighting
• Engaging staff and building users.
It is funded by Brighton & Hove City Council and being held in partnership with Community Works. 20th October, 09:30 to 14:30, Brighton. Details and bookings.
Savings Fit for a King!
East Sussex based King & McGaw, who hand-make art prints and frames, have reduced oil and electricity bills by £1,500. To minimise heat loss they fitted thermostatic controls to warm-air heaters and plastic strip curtains to warehouse doors. To eliminate air-leakage a number of joints and fittings in the compressed air system where replaced. Full case study.
Free Urinal Controls!
(and other water saving devices)
Southern Water are offering non-domestic customers (including businesses, schools, charities) to whom they supply water, free water saving devices fitted by one of their engineers.
This includes automatic urinal controls (which usually cost around £200), water efficient shower heads, dual flush mechanisms and tap flow regulators. Find out more and apply on-line.

Register Your Interest: Energy Efficiency Grants
The Sustainable Business Partnership CIC are in the final stages of securing EU funding to launch an Energy Efficiency Grants Scheme in the new year. This will likely be the last EU funding available! Register your interest.
