New Video Case Study: Kew’s Millennium Seed Bank
The Millennium Seed Bank at Wakehurst Place implements Kew’s ISO 14001 certified environmental management system. Laboratory Manager Keith Manger explains how this has been a driver for improvement. “ISO requires that we implement a strict utility monitoring programme. This helps us track our consumption, spot anomalies and prioritise areas for action.” Watch the video online.

Opportunity to Work with the Sustainable Business Network
We are looking to hire a consultant for initially a six month period to co-ordinate, promote and expand the Sustainable Business Network. Launched in late 2009, the Network now has over 400 members. Amongst other duties, the consultant will be responsible for organising and leading our popular Sustainable Business Breakfast events and encouraging new members. Full details.
What Drives Energy Prices?
The last few months have been volatile with high oil prices keeping strength within the gas market and other bullish influences include decreased LNG cargoes coming to the UK and fears of conflict in the Middle East. Less volatile power has still been on the up. As temperatures rise(?!) and with lower oil prices we are hoping for a more bearish energy market, with decreasing spot and curve pricing.
