East Sussex Energy Efficiency Grants – Up to £1,000

Grants of up to £1,000 are available to help East Sussex SMEs* (excluding Brighton & Hove) with an annual energy spend over £1,500 invest in energy saving projects that will achieve a quantifiable reduction in energy consumption and spend.

Qualifying projects could include upgrading lighting to energy efficiency models, fitting insulation or installing heating controls.

The grant funding is provided by East Sussex County Council and the EU. The Council is keen to help local businesses improve their profitability and reduce their carbon footprint. We are administering the grants on the Council’s behalf.

How much?

Grants of up to £1,000 available, with no match funding required.

First-Come-First-Served, until final deadline 20th November 2015

Grants will be awarded on a first-come-first-served basis, until either the pot is exhausted or the final deadline of the 20th November 2015. Please contact us before completing your application to confirm that funding is still available – 01273 964239.

Then, check your business meets the eligibility criteria (below), download and complete an application pack and return it to along with two quotes for your proposed project. Further guidance and full terms and conditions are also included in the pack.

*Who can apply for a grant?

An SME is defined as a small or medium sized business or social enterprise that:

You must spend over £1,500 a year (excluding VAT, unless you are unable to reclaim it) on energy at the premises where you are applying to have the Energy Audit (excluding fuels for transport).

This premises must be in the East Sussex County Council local authority area and pay business rates (or council tax for care homes) to an East Sussex billing authority (District or Borough Council). Brighton & Hove based businesses are not eligible. Charities (unless they have a clear trading operation) and public sector organisations are not eligible.
