“Thank you very much for your support throughout this project, the lighting has made a great difference and we will also be saving money on our bills, so its win, win!”
Linda Baker, Westways Vending, Hailsham
The Sustainable Business Partnership is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company that works with businesses, social enterprises and public sector organisations to help them reduce costs and environmental impact through improving resource efficiency, as well as those in the environmental and low carbon sectors to help them develop their businesses and create a local, low-carbon economy.
Sustainable Business Expertise
We have over 18 years’ experience helping a wide range of organisations improve their environmental performance and achieve savings through energy, waste and water efficiency. We run training courses, learning and networking events and offer site audits, Environmental Management Systems support and wider sustainable business consultancy services.
“Extremely useful and straight talking workshop.”
Keith Manger, Wakehurst Place
The Partnership was launched in 1998 as part of West Sussex County Council’s Economic Development activities. Partners included the district and borough councils, universities and Environment Agency. The model was successful and other Partnerships were set up across the South East region. In 2009 we launched the Sustainable Business Network that now has over 1,300 members and holds regular events across the region.
In early 2011 the Sustainable Business Partnership incorporated as a Community Interest Company. The move allowed us to develop our services and increase the support on offer to a business community that is increasingly recognising the value of sustainable business practice; the rationale for investing in resource efficiency to reduce running costs and the importance of playing a responsible role within the local community.
“Because we have been working on environmental issues for some time, I was surprised at how much useful, practical information was new to me which I can now apply within my organisation.”
Sheila Daly, University of Portsmouth
